This Information Note is based on a set of notes which were prepared for a University of Canberra course on Satellite Communications conducted in 1994.
Although they mainly deal with the performance and design of earth stations intended for satellite television reception in the 12 GHz or Ku band the general principles described herein are applicable to a wide range of geostationary satellite systems.
