Arrival
On arrival mooters were met with a band of water pistol armed customs officials. Each car was subject to a stringent customs check, which involved declaring contraband including fireworks and Canberra street directorys. Participants were then issued with their holiday moot bag which contained the essentials for surviving the weekend!
Saturday
Granny's
The first activity of the moot was a chance for rovers to test their creativity and ingenuity. The challenge was to create a "granny" out of paper, stockings, plastic bags and anything else that might have been lying around. Granny then had to attend all the activities that followed.
Summer and Winter olympics
The next activity of the morning was the Olympics. The Olympics opened with synchronised swimming with a twist. Participants donned plastic caps and clothes pegs and hastily choreographed a routine to a variety of unusual songs. The routines ranged from spectacular to the truly bizarre.
The relay was a marathon event, with a variety of challenges overcome before the runners attained glory.
Mr and Ms World
Mr and Ms World opened with a battle of the sexes competition. Another highlight of this activity was the singing. Participants chose a topic, and a tune and then had to sing about the topic to the tune. The fashion parade turned up a myriad of unusual costumes and a few more unusual commentaries. The recorder event was quite funny, with noone wanting to have a go after Simon Visser's rendition was played through his nose.
Mardi Gras
Only a few crews participated in the Mardi Gras Float parade. The parade opened with Lake Burly Griffin Rovers. Their float was from thier country of Venice. They floated their Gondola into the Mardi Gras tent complete with Moot Crew T-shirts. Gymea had a more mobile float, withthe theme of National Lampoons Vacation with poor old Nanna strapped to the roof of their car. Lastly Bethungra (that's us!) danced their way through the parade with a village people theme. And then it was on with the party! Limbo competitions, conga lines, karaoke and pinata's were all a part of the nights proceedings.
Sunday
Breakfast
Breakfast was well attended this morning as everyone was forced to get up on time. This may have had a bit to do with the Bethungran sound off that was unanimously voted as the worst ever.
1 2 3 4,
get up now its the law,
5 6 7 8,
get up now don't be late,
1 2 3 4
don't be lazy open up your door

Rodeo
The rodeo was another popular event. Crews had to use their creativity again and create a cow out of boxes, bags and newspapers. Then the crew and their cow had to participate in four activities. These included blindfolded cow lassooing, a bucking bronco, cow milking and a slippery pole.
An impromptu event was added to the rodeo. Cow tossing was included after one crew experiemented with the idea
Beach Party
Okay - so it was too cold for most to dress up in beach wear. But everyone still got into the party spirit with heaps of fireworks, great music, more karaoke and lots of dancing.
Monday
Service
Who says rovers don't get involved in service for the scouting community? Rovers from both ACT and NSW got down and got dirty at the ACT Moot. In an effort to beautify Camp Cottermouth in preparation for ????? most Rovers who attended the moot joined in planting over 60 trees in the area surrounding the camp site.
