[Techlunch] Mobile

As far as I recall (and as I'm getting into that age of senioritis) the various state legislations were written to clearly state "Mobile Phone" so 2 way radio use was still acceptable, but of course it's now almost at the discretion of the police or even AI with the camera's now.I haven't heard of anyone actually being booked for handheld mic use, but getting the mic caught in the steering wheel is common !...Phil VK1PL (Sent from my phone  so please excuse any typos)

Thanks Amanda,
I believe that the recommendation is to keep you hand off it, and drive.
So Vox etc should be OK.  If one is not allowed to talk then keeping the
kids in the back seat in line might get tricky!

Thanks,
DG

Good question Dennis,
Emergency services are allowed to apparently.
I allways use a 1/2  headset microphone while mobile with a locking PTT

In the don't do while driving advertising the state a Mobile Phone nothing else I am aware off.
But now they have cameras to detect using mobile phones, what next.

G’day all,
Has anyone investigated the legality of mobile operation?
Is holding a microphone treated the same as a mobile phone?
If so, is Vox operation (hands free) allowed?
Or is mobile a thing of the past?

Just wondering.
Cheers,
DG
