The Laboratory is a technical facility of the
Department of Communications Information Technology and the Arts
A department of the Federal Government of Australia

MISSION STATEMENT

  • To be a reliable source of timely, plain English, information and advice concerning global technology developments in broadcasting, radiocommunications and telecommunications.

      GOALS:


    1. to be an objective source of technology advice and guidance in the fields of broadcasting, radiocommunications and telecommunications (service delivery methods) to the portfolio and its agencies.

    2. to provide a resource with appropriate hardware facilities and skilled engineering and technical staff to undertake detailed technical investigations on behalf of the portfolio and its related agencies.

    3. to assist the achievement of government communications policy goals by active participation in the work of standards making organisations, industry and academia as relevant to the Laboratory work plan.
