Digital TV Legislation
The Federal Government has legislated for the introduction of DTTB in Australia. Digital Transmissions will commence on 1 January 2001 in metropolitan areas and regional broadcasters have until 1 January 2004 to commence digital transmissions. The Federal Government has provided the FTA broadcasters additional spectrum to simulcast programs in digital and analog modes for at least 8 years from the commencement of digital transmissions.
